Broek Pork Acres is a unique and local direct marketing family farm that raises and processes pasture raised hogs and has a clear focus on quality rather than quantity. Our pasture to plate process includes a hands on approach that ensures the quality and freshness of the end product.

This family run farm has been raising hogs since 2000. Their pasture raised animals are fed an all natural diet without any antibiotics, growth stimulants or animal by products. The Broek family raise Berkshire pigs, a rare breed originating in Britain. They are said to be Britain’s oldest pig breed. Prized for juiciness, flavour and tenderness.

Brome Lake Ducks has been specializing in the breeding of Peking duck since its establishment. Their ducks are naturally raised (not force-fed) for their meat, and the birds are also world-renowned for their tender juicy meat.

Broxburn grows vegetables free of chemicals and pesticides using biological methods. Predatory insects are introduced to control pests. The fruits and vegetables are left to ripen on the plants producing better tasting and healthier produce.

Cupper’s Coffee and Tea was a logical progression for café owner Al Anctil. Al first began roasting while operating the Penny Coffee House, literally. The challenge of running a café and keeping an eye on a 400° roaster, combined with the increasing demand for his coffee led Al to separate the two activities and in 1991 Cupper’s Coffee and Tea was born.

Dewar Apiaries Dewar Apiaries is a family owned and operated beekeeping farm located in Central Alberta. They currently run over 1000 hives and raise our own bee stock. We work hard to produce a mild, full-flavoured honey locally sourced from mainly clover flowers, and also dandelion flowers.

Bert and Caroline Vande Bruinhorst operate Ewe-Nique Farms southeast of Champion. They have been raising ewes and lambs for 21 years. Their lambs are processed on their farm and are provincially inspected in their CHR approved meat cutting facility. Their animals are raised free range, without artificial growth hormones or animal by-product feeds, and are finished on natural grain and hay rations.

At Fairwinds Farm, Ben and Anita Oudshoorn raise their goats naturally without growth hormones, promotants or antibiotics. Their wonderful goat cheese (Chèvre), milk and yogurt are produced at their farm with out additives, preservatives or artificial colours.

For over 70 years, the Ratuski family has provided North American kitchens with world-class wild rice products from Floating Leaf. This wild rice complements almost any meal with its rich, nutty flavor. They are directly involved with the harvest, processing and packaging of their wild rice products. Their exacting quality controls integrated in the process guarantee customer satisfaction. Floating Leaf products are Organic Grown, Natural and Kosher Certified wild rice.

Fresh Flavor Farms Fresh Flavor Farm is a aquaponic farm with the intent of providing a local sustainable food without use of chemicals or pesticide at our closed loop zero discharge site using next generation aquaponic process with the support of Tilapia fish and probiotics to support plant growth. We are Certified Naturally and Food safety is our priority using Good Agriculture Practices. Our products have low food miles and delivered to niche retailers and restaurants within 24h of harvest.

Galimax Trading Inc. based in Nobleford, AB is a small organization which connects producers and growers to markets and restaurants in Alberta. Sourcing products locally from Southern Alberta and small amounts of cheese and wine vinegars from Eastern British Columbia is part of their passion. The distribution centre and egg grading station in Nobleford offers farmers and producers a point of drop where Galimax’s trained staff load the products the same day and deliver to Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton the next day. This small type of distribution constantly assures customers that the product is the freshest, highest quality and sustainably produced product available in Alberta.

Grainworks At Grainworks, farming is our passion and family our foundation. Our commitment to healthy foods and a healthy planet started with our great grandparents’ homestead over a century ago. Homestead Bakeshop is an artisan bakery located on historic Main Street in Fort Macleod, Alberta. We have a strong commitment to ensuring that flavour and quality, along with baking from scratch are top priorities in everything that we make. Long fermentation and good ingredients are key when making bread here as it gives better flavour development while at the same time breaking down the wheat protein inside the bread to allow for better digestion. We are excited to be introducing great tasting bread and authentic Sourdough to Southern Alberta and looking forward to being part of the community in both Fort Macleod and Lethbridge.

Like the century’s old cheese making tradition in Europe, we wanted to create a specialty cheese that reflects the landscape, life and culture of the place it comes from. Our farmstead cheese is handcrafted following the tradition of artisan cheese-makers, and is made using only the raw milk from our own certified organic herd. Each cheese is carefully aged in order to develop a rich, complex flavor that is unique to our milk, our farm, and our region. As a mother and businesswoman, I am pleased to bring these little potatoes to you. My father, a Dutch immigrant, introduced me to the flavourful little potatoes he grew up with. Together, we planted our first acre in 1996, sorting, washing, and bagging our first crop by hand. We remain dedicated to bringing back the original, diverse goodness of little potatoes. Luco Farms is a family owned farm that has been growing award winning pedigree cereal and oilseed crops since 1937. Processing mustard grown on the farm is a natural transition focused on producing high-quality, fresh mustard products that are free from artificial colourings, preservatives and other non-value added ingredients. Their vision is to provide fresh, pure “farm to fork” products that professional and home chef`s can use to create new and interesting flavor profiles in their cooking.

Happy Hens make Healthy Eggs. Mans Eggs takes eggs to a whole new level. Delivering quality free range eggs at fair prices throughout Alberta is just the start. The product you use for cooking, baking, breakfast, lunch or supper was laid by free range hens which are given the choice to be indoors during windy or rainy days, and enjoy the freedom of the outdoors on warm sunny days.

To ensure consistency from one dozen to the next the farmers purchase feed from one feed mill. Alfalfa meal is added to the feed which ensures each egg is full of rich flavour and healthy color. At the CFIA approved grading station each egg is candled to ensure cracks, blood spots (a natural occurrence), and deformed eggs are removed. After being candled each eggs is washed and graded into size and then set into cartons or trays depending on the shipping destination. Mans Eggs knows it is critical for our customers to know where each chicken is raised, and each egg is laid. We keep it very simple: the hens and all the eggs are grown and graded in Southern Alberta.

Mans OrganicsThe farm has been in operation since 2012 and currently grows tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers in the greenhouses.

Old West Ranch water buffalo mozzarella brings quality to the artisan Canadian cheese market. The cheese is dense and velvety and sweetly milky with a tangy underpinning that keeps us reaching for more.

Rafferty Farms was started by three students born and raised in Calgary, AB in 2015. They own and operate an aquaponic greenhouse that grows fresh produce in a sustainable way. Aquaponics is an integrated system of plants, fish and microorganisms in a closed-loop production cycle. Their greenhouse also uses solar and wind for heating and electricity, and saves precious fresh water through rainwater catch and re-circulation systems.

Currently the Taber, Alberta beet factory can produce up to 150,000 tonnes of sugar from locally grown sugar beets. The Company contracts with about 400 sugar beet producers each year to grow a certain number of acres for sugar beets, based on market conditions. Check out Rogers Sugar.

A few years ago, I decided to learn more about nutrition and healthy eating. My grandmother was a medicine woman in Mali, West Africa, and she influenced my interest to learn more about how food, herbs, and spices positively affect our health. I discovered that while sugar can be harmful, herbs and spices can be helpful. I didn’t like the taste of flavoured teas, so I developed my own line. My goal was to create a smooth, healthy, flavourful tea that didn’t taste fake or artificial. Mixing various herbs and sharing my blends with family and friends became an ongoing hobby. I create every Vitaliteas blend myself through extensive testing (and tasting!). When it reaches the point where I enjoy and feel good after drinking it, I know the product is ready for others to enjoy, too.
